Over the years, I’ve taken to saving ticket stubs from everything we do. I used to save ticket stubs from movies I saw in high school, although I’m pretty sure those aren’t around anymore. Now, I save tickets from any place we go or things we attend. I’ve got things from a few different countries over the course of the last 15 years or so. What do you do with those though? I decided it was time to display them.
Then I went shopping. I wanted to put them onto letters, the cardboard three dimensional type, but wasn’t sure what I wanted them to say. Then it hit me. Travel. Hello. Where do I get all these ticket stubs from? Traveling.
After that, I cut all the tickets out and started arranging. There were some that I wanted certain parts to show and based on their sizes, some fit better vertically instead of horizontally. Using mod podge, I put a layer on the letter, then put the ticket on top. I wrapped the corners around the sides, since they’ll need to be covered too. An exact knife is handy to cut around the holes in the R and A.
I did all the letters and covered the sides as best I could. I used the remaining tickets to fill in the little empty spaces on the sides. It took me a few days to finish it all since I would get tired and just let them dry before going back to finish later.
Once I was done, I hung them up in my office. There’s already tons of stuff on the walls in there, so these fit right in.
