Yay! It’s May! I’m not really sure where this year is flying away too, but that’s ok, because I’m pretty sure May is my favorite month. It’s summer like without being too hot. There’s a lot going on this month, including my birthday, Mother’s Day, my first blog conference, a possible road trip, and a whole bunch of other stuff. My son’s already counting the days until school is out too.
I finally get to start working from home a couple days a week. When I interviewed for this job, they said I could and I’m glad it’s finally happening. I’ll save on time, gas, and money. You can’t beat that!
I’ve been online browsing a few of my favorite stores, but I don’t like anything anymore. Do you ever get to that point where you outgrow a store? That’s kinda making me feel old, but they just aren’t doing it for me anymore. If you do shop online, make sure to go through Ebates to get your cash back. I have shopping sprees with my cash back money!
Speaking of shopping, have you heard of GOVX? They are a huge site that offers members only discounts to military, law enforcement, and first responders. They have clothes and home stuff, but better than that, they have tickets! MLB, NHL, and NBA tickets, races, events, concerts, lots of stuff. The site is way bigger than you’d think, with tons more stuff. They also have a referral program. Sign up at the link, I may need to be saving up for Father’s Day baseball tickets.
Don’t forget to comment on this post sharing how you support veterans. One person will be chosen to enter the grand prize drawing and have $500 donated in their name to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.
Do you have school age kids? Do they get an allowance? We’ve been talking about giving the boy an allowance. He is a great kid, rarely gives us trouble, and does all his chores with little fight. He’ll be 9 in a couple months, so it’s probably time we start. I was thinking $2 a week, but then I’m cheap. Pretty sure I got $2 a week when I was his age though. The husband said $5 which is what we are going with. He also just got his bedtime moved from 8 to 8:30. We are doing it gradually and he’s still at 8:15, but he thinks he’s super cool now. Then there’s my other one who gets put in time out at preschool every. single. day. She apparently doesn’t make good choices like her teacher (and we) tell her too. At this rate, the girl’s going to be in trouble until she goes to college.
