Last Thursday, I shared my recipe for homemade laundry detergent. This week, we have it’s sister, dryer sachets! I was surprised how many people asked how to make them after I mentioned them last week, so hear ya go.
I’ve been using these for almost a year (thanks to the mother-in-law again) and I love them. They are effective, natural, reusable, have a second life after they are done in the dryer, and best of all, my husband hasn’t noticed I stopped using dryer sheets, which means they really work.
For extra scent, I added a couple drops of essential oil. Don’t use too much though! You are throwing a flammable liquid in a hot dryer, so use sparingly.
Then it’s easy. Fill up your baggies and throw one in the dryer with your next load. I keep a jar of them on my dryer. Once they’ve lost most of their scent, the sachets can be used in a drawer for a light fragrance.
Does anyone have any tips or ideas for Thrifty Thursday? Anything you make to save money that you want to share? Want to know how to save in other ways? Let me know!
