This week is spring break. I’m big on getting out of the house and doing stuff, I can’t just sit home with the kids all day. I get bored, they get bored, and we are all this close to killing each other.
Monday morning, we went to Nakagusuku Castle. We had been there before, but it was like a year ago and it was nasty and rainy that day. The castle is one of the best preserved on the island and seems to be the one thing that didn’t suffer much damage during WWII. Construction began on the castle in the latter half of the 14th century. The Castle became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000 under the title “Gusuku Sites and Related Properties of the Ryukyu Kingdom”.

There is an abandoned, unfinished hotel next to the castle. You can read the whole crazy story and how it’s haunted here. I really, really, wanted to go in there, but it’s off limits to military and I’m not big on doing illegal things when the kids are along. Bad influence and all that.
