On Sunday, the kids and I needed to get out of the house.
I was online looking for parks to take them to when I came across Fukushen Gardens.
The gardens are in Naha, but it isn’t that bad of a drive during non-rush hour traffic.
It was super easy to find.
According to what I read online, the admission was free.
There were people at the information desk when we walked in, so we waited in case it did cost.
When it was our turn, the lady asked me if we were from the USA and then said free and gestured for us to go in.
This place was gorgeous!
It was so quite and peaceful. Pretty amazing considering we were in the city.
The gardens themselves are surrounded by a wall.
Inside we found lots of fun, little rock paths, bridges, and ponds full of fish and turtles.
One of the highlights is a small waterfall.
The rocks behind the falls are dug out so you can walk through them.
The kids loved walking through the caves, as they called them.
Little Man originally wasn’t real excited about going, but he ended up having a great time!
We also found a park across the street.
It was mostly larger grassy areas, but we did find a few things to play on.
