The hubs put in his reinlistment packet and it was denied (mind you he is closer to retirement than his original enlist date). He was told he had to pass a PFT and CFT test. He hadn’t taked a PFT since December 2008. He had surgery on both his feet in May 2009, so that has took some while to recover from. He is not in bad shape, but this duty station hasn’t motivate him much either. He would rather be in the sandbox with his brothers. But anyways, he took the PFT the day after he found out about it and passed. He took the CFT a few days later and failed by 10 seconds. 10 freaking seconds!!! He took it again today and passed. He called and said he was hurting, but he was so relieved he had passed.
It got me thinking about what we would do if he couldn’t reinlist. The Marines are his life. I don’t know that he would be the same person. I think we would for sure move, even though cost of living is low and we have a house here. But what would he do for a job? I know what he wants to do when he retires, but what if that retirement isn’t coming in every month? It was a stressful night for me until I told myself to forget about it. I knew he could pass both of those. He would push through any pain to make sure he had his family taken care of.
